Cold rolling or cold drawing of steel alters its mechanical properties, one
effect of which is to reduce ductility, this can result in failure when bending or
forming to a sharp angle.
The methods used in production of USABEND include an inter-annealing process so
that the steel is in the HV 135/165 range ofhardness, and is suitable for
bending to a 90 degree angle without the risk of cracking.
Other tempers such as quarter hard can be supplied to special order.
