GB Longmore
specializes in the production of high quality rounds
from 8mm (5/16") to 100 mm (4") and a corresponding
range of hexagons and squares. In addition, a range
of special sections is also available. A variety of
market sectors are supplied, both in the UK and internationally,
including automotive, white goods, office equipment,
fasteners, hydraulics, mechanical engineering, petrochemicals,
mining and, of course, steel stockholding and distribution.
To ensure that available capacity exceeds the demands
placed upon it, some of the most extensive and advanced
production facilities in the industry can be found at
GB Longmore – equipment includes high speed Schumag
drawing machines capable of drawing and straightening
bar up to 42mm diameter, and incorporating crack detection
and bar chamfering. Augmenting these, an extensive complement
of bar-fed drawbenches with multiple draw facilities
mean that we are ready to handle any kind of order.
Extensive additional
facilities and services include annealing, hardening
& tempering, stress-relieving and normalizing.
Both in-line and off-line sawing is available,
our saw centres being capable of working to extremely
tight tolerances and short lengths in line with
specific customer requirements. As a significant
proportion of our production is exported, special
export packaging is also available.
Quality, naturally, is of prime importance.
The company is approved to BS EN ISO 9002 and
supplies numerous manufacturers of high integrity
products. Full inspection and testing facilities
ensure consistently high quality.
