Steel Specifications
We can offer steel specifications to meet most recognised national and international standards within the following broad steel types:

Due to the limitations of the production equipment, certain bar sizes within our size range may not be available in all of the above steel types.

Dimension Tolerances
Tolerances, both for cross section and length, can be supplied to most national and international standards and are available as plus and minus, or all minus, but must be agreed at the time of placing and order.  Tighter tolerances can be considered.

Lengths
Although lengths of up to 12,000mm (40 feet) are available, the maximum length we can supply will be limited by the combination of size and our production equipment. Bars will normally be supplied with either hot or cold sheared ends, at our discretion. Short lengths and sawn ends are available by arrangement.

Straightness Tolerances
Unless stated otherwise, bars will be supplied to appropriate national standards.  Special tolerances may be available, but must be agreed at the time of placing the order.

Heat Treatment
Heat treated bars (hardened & tempered, annealed, normalised) are available to a maximum length of 7,000mm (23 feet)

Minimum Batch Quantity
In most bar sizes, quantities as small as 5,000 lbs. can be supplied if available from our standard raw material stocks.  Larger bar sizes will be the exception to this rule, with the minimum quantity dependent on the size.  Where special raw material has to be purchased, this will establish the smallest quantity we can supply, and may range from the product of a single bloom, up to a cast quantity.
